Dar Bizhu (pronounced bee-zoo) specializes in one of a kind, limited edition and unique, handcrafted, designer jewelry for women and men. Our ever-expanding store balances elegance with  rocker chic, offering designs by some of the hottest artisans and visual artists working today. At Dar Bizhu we believe that jewelry is an expression of your inner self, or who you really want to be. Whether you wear jeans and t-shirt to avoid the fuss, or a corporate suit because you have to, our shop is the place to find your flair.
 
Jessica W. Catlow, owner and creator of Dar Bizhu, is inspired by the different cultures and styles of New York City, as well as those she observes during her travels abroad. As a practicing corporate lawyer, Catlow has struggled for years to find jewelry that matches her own sensibilities, allowing her to express individual style when wearing a suit. She at first toyed with the idea of trying her own hand at design, but following a chance encounter with two jewelry designers in Morocco, was motivated to pursue her own store, a life-long dream. This moment of inspiration is reflected in the name of  
her eboutique: in Moroccan Arabic, Dar means house and Bizhu means jewelry.  The language, an melange of cultures and dialects, echoes the diversity of designs available here. While developing Dar Bizhu, Catlow found voice in Oscar de la Renta who, when asked about the difference between fashion and style, said: "Fashion is about dressing according to what's fashionable. Style is more about being yourself." Hence the Dar Bizhu motto, Show Your Style. A resident of New York City for nearly 20 years, Catlow continues to reside in Manhattan with her Dachshund, Lucy.
